Haynes began his educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (AGGIE PRIDE!!!). He later pursued a Master of Science in Educational Administration from National University in San Diego, California. His family later moved to Los Angeles, where he joined one of the nation’s highest-performing public-school districts, William S. Hart Schools. It was in the Hart District where Haynes found his niche in mentoring other teachers while working part-time for the school district as an induction mentor when he wasn’t teaching in his own classroom. The Hart district is also where he received extensive training in social-emotional learning, which led him to pilot PBIS programs on two different campuses as well as build an SEL course curriculum for all middle and high schools. After COVID, the Haynes family decided to settle back on the East Coast closer to family and moved to GA. For the last two school years, he served Sandy Creek HS as Assistant Principal over science, instructional coaching, student engagement, and much more.
Haynes’ professional philosophy centers on fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment that encourages critical thinking and lifelong learning. His diverse experiences, coupled with his passion for education and commitment to student success, make him a valuable asset to any educational institution.
Haynes is a dedicated educator and leader, ready to roll up his sleeves and contribute to the continued success and development of Douglas High School.
